Arrest for An Altered Firearm

Sunday, August 6, 2017 at approximately 12:11 A.M., the Choctaw County Sheriff’s Office received a call to 34 Sycamore Road in Needham, Alabama.  The complainant stated a subject had shot the street light out.  Upon deputies arrival, Jerry Edward Nicholson was arrested and charged with Possession of an Altered Firearm.  Nicholson was transported to the Choctaw County Jail where he remains at present time.  Possession of an Altered Firearm is also a violation of federal law, and this case will be presented to federal authorities for their consideration in this matter.
