Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Case

On Friday, March 2, 2018 at approximately 10:45 P.M., deputies with the Choctaw County Sheriff’s Office we’re performing a traffic stop on Riderwood Drive near Scott Mountain Road.  While on that particular stop, deputies noticed an oncoming car.  The oncoming car took an abrupt turn onto Hardwood Drive. Hardwood Drive is a area with very few residents.   Deputies proceeded to Hardwood Drive to investigate.  Deputies made contact with the vehicle.   Upon approach they smelled a strong odor of marijuana.  A search of the vehicle revealed two large bags of marijuana.  Walter William Winn Jr. was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana 1st degree.  Tiesha Marshall was arrested for Possession of Marijuana 2nd degree.  Both were transported to the Choctaw County Jail.
