The Choctaw County Sheriff’s Office needs the publics help in identifying the man in this picture.
He has identified himself as Edgar Barefield with some home owners, but we have reason to belief the name is fake. The vehicles that he has used are: (1) A burgundy Ford Taurus (2) A crème Toyota Camry and (3) A bluish green/white Chevrolet truck.
Anyone with information on the identity of the person in this photograph is encouraged to call the Choctaw County Sheriff’s Office, 911, or submit an anonymous tip to CRIME TIPS .

The Choctaw County Sheriffs Office and the Clarke County Mississippi Sheriffs Office have had several reports of a black male that knocks on home owners doors and attempts to borrow money to help bury a relative. The male has used several different names and sometimes travels with a white male and a white female. In each case we have been given a different description of the vehicle that he’s driving.
Most home owners are waiting one hour or longer before they report the incident. We need you to notify us immediately by calling 911. Try to gather as much information as possible. The vehicle description, tag number, direction of travel, and any other information would be helpful. Above all, do not give this person money because it’s a scam.
